Sandy Springs Police Department and A Tow Partnership Leads to Improved Towing Services

  • C:LOGIC’s Electronic Information-sharing Service Will Enable 24x7 Towed Vehicle Recovery and Eliminate Need For Visit To Police Station

  • FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sandy Springs, GA (December 15, 2008) Complied Logic Corporation (C:LOGIC), a leading provider of Towing Lifecycle Management solutions , today announced that Sandy Springs, Georgia is the latest community to adopt C:LOGIC’s Vehicle Information-sharing and Notification Service (VINS), joining the Georgia Towed Vehicle Locator Initiative.
  • “Working in partnership with A Tow, we are pleased to participate in this statewide initiative”, announced Sandy Springs Police Department (SSPD) Police Chief Terry Sult. “The benefits to Sandy Springs extend well beyond our citizens and internal departmental needs to helping people who visit our city or live in neighboring communities locate and recover their towed cars more quickly.”
  • VINS delivers a comprehensive, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that streamlines dispatching and towing operations and enables electronic information collaboration among area Law Enforcement, the Towing and Storage Industry and the general public. Citizens and Sandy Springs visitors can now go online to http://ga.towedcar.com to locate towed vehicles.
  • VINS-enabled communication between the SSPD and the city’s contract tower, A Tow, will allow 24x7 towed vehicle recovery and eliminate the requirement to visit the police station prior to retrieval at the storage lot. VINS will also lower SSPD officer workload through electronic towing reports and automatic dispatching of A Tow wreckers without Fulton County dispatcher involvement.
  • “Though our strong partnership with SSPD, we are excited about providing this expanded service”, states S. Page Porter, CEO of A Tow. “We see this initiative as a model of how private and public sector cooperation can provide higher quality cost-effective services to citizens and taxpayers.”
  • The Towed Vehicle Locator Initiative connects the dots and enables disparate law enforcement agencies to easily locate vehicles that have been towed in neighboring jurisdictions, dramatically lowering the number of erroneous stolen vehicle reports, as well as the time required to locate a missing vehicle.
